I had the chance to do a mural court at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Metro, in Lampung, Indonesia.
For this mural, I tell a story about dreams, how we all have the desire to grow, to fly high, and to become something more. I illustrated this through the image of a bird soaring freely, a symbol of hope, ambition, and the courage to take flight. If you look closer, you’ll notice that the bird’s body has roots growing from it, an important part of the message, no matter how far we go or how high we fly, it’s just as important to stay grounded. To remember who we are, where we come from, and to carry those values with us wherever life takes us.

This mural was made for the students, the teachers, and the community around the school, as a daily reminder to dream big but stay humble. To keep looking up, while still keeping both feet on the ground. It was such a meaningful experience to share this message through color and shape, and I’m so grateful to everyone at the school who welcomed me and supported this project.

This mural started with a simple idea, inspired by the spirit and energy I felt from the school. I began sketching, exploring different possibilities, and figuring out how the artwork could really speak to the space.
After a few drafts and visits to the site, the final design slowly took shape, and we began the mural project.

A glimpse into the process, from sketching and painting pastel grids to outlining bold shapes by hand. Each photo captures a little piece of the journey, filled with color, care, and a whole lot of teamwork.

Step by step, stroke by stroke, from an empty court to a colorful, expressive mural. These moments capture our journey: from sketching under the sun, painting into the evening, to finally seeing the full artwork come alive. A shared effort, full of energy, color, and heart.

A top view of our mural process, capturing the progress, teamwork, and all the little moments that brought the artwork to life. With layers of paint, teamwork, and shared excitement, we brought the mural to life.

After two weeks of working side by side, we finally brought the mural to life. It wasn’t always easy, but every moment was worth it. This project was built on teamwork, trust, and the simple joy of creating something together. Thanks to everyone who showed up, helped out, and believed in the process, the mural is now ready to be a part of the school, a space for the students, teachers, and the whole community to enjoy and make their own.
